It's been a whirlwind six months for The Field and we have some exciting news to share...

Putting down roots
After a relatively nomadic existence for it's early years, The Field has now put down roots in Italy. From our base in Trieste, in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and on the border with Slovenia, we are cultivating a focus on local impact as well as continuing to work across Europe.
A new company structure
After a period of growth in 2024 and a new geographical base, it was time to think about a more robust company structure, so at the start of this year we officially registered as a cooperative company.
We thought long and hard about what shape we wanted The Field to take, and what structure would allow us to be agile, responsive and embody the values of the change we want to make and the mission that drives us. In the end, a cooperative has felt like the perfect home - a format that puts values of equality, mutuality and cooperation at the heart of how we work.
We had no idea when the decision was made, but the UN has declared 2025 the International Year of Cooperatives, under the leadership of Mongolia and Kenya, to recognise the crucial contribution cooperatives are making to achieving the sustainable development goals. It feels like an auspicious alignment for us, and we hope that we can make a contribution to this growing movement through our work.

Introducing our co-founder
For the relaunch of The Field we are welcoming onboard the spectacular Duna Viezzoli. She joins Amayah and Vid as co-founder of our new cooperative company, bringing a wealth of experience as a strategic consultant in the cultural sector with expertise in place-based climate strategy, youth engagement and education for sustainable development.
